XCO Course Map: 2025 Massanutten Hoo-Ha XCO State Championship
What to expect: A 4-mile lap of rocks, roots, and power climbs. Expect baby heads and fast lines. Laps vary by category.
Bring your A-game—this one doesn’t make friends.
Uphill Time Trial Course Map: 2025 UpHill Time Trial for the Massanutten Hoo-Ha State Championship
What to Expect: This climb lulls you in with smooth trail, but don’t get comfy. It gets steeper, looser, and rougher the higher you go.
Starts out tame—just enough to get the legs spinning.
Midway, the gradient kicks up, the line narrows, and your legs start asking questions.
The final pitch is a test of grit and traction—expect chunky terrain, roots, and a gasping finish.
It’s a pure power test. Pace it wrong, and you’ll blow up before the final push. Nail it, and you might just ride into legend.
It's a good climb but do some shuttle laps in between the XCO and your start time to “warm up”
SUNDAY (October 5)
– Downhill Showdown @ Massanutten Bike Park
Massanutten Bike park - 1822 Resort Dr, McGaheysville, VA (Follow signs to ski area)
What to expect: A single Crown Friendly – Built for XC Racers. This isn’t a pro DH course—it’s a speed test designed for cross-country riders. We’re not racing on the gnarliest race trails. This course is specifically chosen to be approachable and fun on a short-travel bike, but still challenging enough to separate the brave from the hesitant.
Racers will compete on either Crunchy or Macadamia, depending on conditions and turnout. Both trails are 100% rideable on XC rigs.
A Full Day Long Bike Park pass is included in the registration, ride the lifts up, explore all the trails, do your timed runs, then hang out at the Mid Mountain Grill for the awards.
IMPORTANT - Bike Park Access:
Follow signs to ski area
Bike Park Day Passes are available at a steep discount for pre-registered participants.
A special discount code will be emailed to all pre-registered riders for pre-riding access prior to race day.
Season Pass Holders do not need to purchase a day pass.
Full Face Helmet, and a bike with at least a front shock and disk brakes required in the Bike Park. (Full Face Helmets and DH bikes can be rented from the rental shop.)
Race Day Timeline:
10:00 AM – Bike Park & Lift Opens
12:00 PM – Downhill Race Begins (Best of 2–4 runs depending on turnout)
3:00 PM – Downhill Awards @ Mid Mountain Grill
4:00 PM – Bike Park Closes
Single Crown Friendly – Built for XC Racers
